99.8kw Solar System in Brunswick East

Solarvista is proud to showcase the recent installation completed for the SolarVic Apartments Program at 195–197 Lygon Street, Brunswick East.

Each apartment received a 2.5 kW hybrid battery-ready inverter and 1.53 kW of solar panels.

Our team began with a detailed site inspection to ensure all equipment was positioned securely and conveniently, without disrupting the flow of carpark traffic. Getting this stage right is critical, and a bit of common sense goes a long way — especially since the client mentioned that other companies had suggested installing equipment near the main entrance gate!

Typically, apartment complexes use the SolShare system, which allows three inverters to distribute power across multiple apartments. However, with return on investment being a top priority amid today’s rising living costs, we ran the numbers and developed an alternative solution. By leveraging the Federal STC battery rebate, we decided to connect a separate grid-tied inverter to each apartment.

When comparing costs, our proposal came in significantly below competitors — leaving the complex with surplus funds to reinvest into general light and power. Solarvista then supplied and installed an additional 19.8 kW solar system, 30 kWh battery, and three-phase backup, ensuring the gates, remote access, and security cameras remain powered during a blackout.

All of this was achieved well under the competitors’ quotes — without compromising on quality. Before installation began, Solarvic’s main electrical inspector conducted a full site inspection alongside Solarvista’s director and lead electrician to ensure every aspect of the work exceeded compliance standards.

We are also starting the roll out of a battery for each tenant by offering a 10kwh battery and switching their off peak hot water to on peak which will be taken care of solar + battery.

As off peak is only 7cents cheaper, we are using the Ovo free energy plan to force charge during the 3 free hours which will enable 100% self sufficiency.
